Hi, I’m Michelle.
I am a holistic health educator, nutritionist, and health coach for adults, teens, parents, and families.
I have a Master's degree in Holistic Health Education with a specialization in Holistic Nutrition. I am also trained in holistic coaching and have coached many clients with varied health goals. I reside in Davis, California but can work with you anywhere via phone or Zoom.
I am passionate about bringing greater health into our modern life. I focus on helping people create sustainable habits for the long-term by fostering my clients’ health and vitality, not a specific number on a scale or a certain body image. And I believe everyone deserves to be nourished, by their food and their life.
My Health Philosophy:
My holistic view of health rests in the belief that all aspects of our lives impact our health, not just what we eat and how much we work out. This includes the amount and quality of our sleep, how we start our days, what we choose to eat, how we spend our time, who we choose to spend our time with, how compassionate we our with ourselves and others, how we experience nature, and so on.
So while most clients come to me to work on issues around food, I also always talk with them about other parts of their lives and how we can work to nourish their health in these other areas as well.
My Philosophy About Food:
I do not believe there is one “right” or “healthy” way to eat. I do believe in some broader, guiding principles of eating, however. I believe:
Food is literally what the cells of our bodies are made of, therefore it is the foundation of our health. If you want to invest in your health, invest in what you eat.
It is important for each person to be aware of how food affects their physical body, mood, energy level, and overall vitality.
Diets and rules-based eating promote an adversarial and negative relationship with food and your body.
Food is a source of nourishment- it should bring pleasure and enjoyment, not guilt and stress.
Food has a long history as a central component to relationships. It can be very fun and rewarding to prepare and share food with others.

Replace shame and guilt with compassion and curiosity

I feel a deep gratitude that I have found what I am passionate about and the opportunity to do this for my life’s work. I also feel honored each time I work with a client on their journey towards greater health and nourishment; it is always a privilege to be a part of growth and change.
How I Work
I am a health educator, nutrition consultant, and wellness coach. I work with individuals, families, parents, and sometimes small groups. I generally work with people in a health coaching role on a weekly basis, providing education and helping them make incremental changes over time. In coaching, I am your partner in making changes in any and all areas of your health, including food, movement, sleep, stress, and more. In some cases I work with people in a very limited capacity (only one or a few sessions) as a nutritional consultant to provide information but not act in the role of coach on an on-going basis (sometimes these clients transition into coaching). I also teach classes and workshops and give presentations.
